How to enable Auto-add Friends?

On the Dashboard page, go to the Persona you wish to enable Auto-add Friends.

Tap icon > “Phone Number” under Auto-add Friends section
If you have not enabled auto-add friends, you will see “Not Set”.

Case 1: You have not added your phone number to your OpusChat account.

  1. Tap “Not Set”
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue and allow OpusChat to access your phone contacts.
  3. Select your country from the list, your country code will be automatically filled, or enter a valid country code.
  4. Enter your phone number (Omit the leading 0 before your phone number)
  5. Tap “Next” / Tick icon to request for an authorisation code
  6. Enter the 5-digit code you receive via SMS
  7. Tap “Verify”
  8. Tap “Close”
OpusChat will now add friends also using OpusChat from your phonebook contact automatically.

Case 2: You have added your phone number (for account recovery), but have not assigned it to your persona for Auto-add Friends.
  1. Tap “Not Set”
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to continue and allow OpusChat to access your phone contacts.
  3. Tap “Close”

Note: The name that appears for an auto-added friend is the name you set in your phonebook.
